Stainless Steel 316 Composite Index

MEPS regional average stainless steel 316 composite indices are derived from a weighted average of prices for all grade 316 stainless steel products in the flat and long categories. The weighting is based on the consumption of individual stainless steel products in a specified region. Prices are collected in the appropriate local currency and converted into US dollars to provide a basis for comparison. Indices are calculated by comparing the current price with the corresponding value in April 1997. This base value has an index number of 100.
