James held a variety of sales and customer facing roles at Corus, Tata Steel, British Steel and AMG Aluminium, during a 15-year career in the UK metals industry, prior to joining MEPS in 2025. Consequently, he has a wealth of commercial expertise from UK primary producers. James began his career in sales, primarily dealing in engineering bar. His subsequent sales experience has spanned a wide range of products, including coil, plate, sheet and sections. James has a proven ability to build strong relationships with a diverse mix of participants across the supply chain, from small UK stockholders to global OEMs

I like weekend walks and visits to the pub with family and friends. I’m also fascinated by Yorkshire’s historical sites, such as Rievaulx Abbey, which I like to visit. At one stage, I even went through a phase of cooking medieval recipes.
