Ewan Gilfillan
Data Lead
Ewan began his career in the steel sector when he joined Italian steel industry equipment supplier Danieli, in 2015, later progressing from junior proposal engineer to aftersales manager. His focus was on selling spare parts for scrap recycling machines, while also coordinating the production of capital expenditure components in Italy and Thailand. During his time at Danieli, the aftersales team doubled their sales in just three years.
Ewan joined MEPS as a steel price forecaster in 2021, before moving into the data team to help design and implement a proprietary research and analysis application. He was later promoted to data lead, where he now oversees MEPS’s data architecture and advances its forecasting and analytical technologies.
