With almost 30 years’ experience in the metals industry, primarily selling stainless steel, Dan embraced a new challenge when joining MEPS in the summer of 2024. Dan entered the industry as a commercial trainee, in the mid-1990s, joining a metals distributor. He quickly progressed, developing his own portfolio of customers before moving to roles with large mill-owned steel suppliers in the UK, Cogne UK and Swiss Steel Group. In these businesses Dan fulfilled the role of sales manager and regional sales manager, helping to grow their revenues, implement new products and successfully growing their customer base. Now Dan leverages his product knowhow and strong personal skills as a European steel market researcher, gathering the steel price data and market intelligence which underpins MEPS insight.

If I’m not spending time with family, I’ll be coaching football. After hanging up my boots as a player I threw myself into coaching and now run two teams, having recently gained qualifications from the English FA (Football Association).
