Chris Jackson

MEPS research lead, Chris Jackson, comes from a family of steelworkers. His brother, father and grandfather all pursued careers in the sector. Chris began his journey in steel when he was accepted onto the graduate scheme at Tata Steel UK’s Scunthorpe plant. The scheme gave him experience in all aspects of the steel supply chain and he was quickly promoted into an account management role, specialising in international sales of wire rod. Chris, who trained as a journalist before entering the steel industry, joined MEPS in 2015. Combining these reporting skills with his steel market knowledge, he conducts market research with MEPS’s industry contacts across the globe.
