Meet with MEPS at Euroblech 2024

Visitors to this month’s Euroblech 2024 expo are being invited to meet a member of the MEPS International team to gain insight about European steel prices.

MEPS steel market analysts Michael Hill and Adam Crookes will be attending the 27th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, which will take at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds, in Germany, from October 22 to 25. 

Euroblech’s organisers say that the event covers the entire sheet metal working technology chain and offers the industry sector “a unique marketplace for knowledge transfer”. MEPS’s representatives are offering just such an opportunity to attendees.

“With prices finely balanced, the timing could not be better to discuss the market’s future direction,” said Hill, who will be at the Expo on October 22 and 23. 

“Euroblech provides an excellent opportunity for MEPS to exchange information with steel industry experts in the coil and plate market. We are looking forward to meeting contacts, old and new.” 

Crookes added: "It will be my first time attending Euroblech. I see it as a great opportunity to meet with our research partners face-to-face to strengthen our collaboration.  

“There's also the possibility of identifying potential new research partners, of course. This can result in the kind of regular exchange of information that underpins MEPS's independent steel market research, both in Europe and across the world." 

MEPS provides monthly steel prices, market commentaries, forecasts and price indices from Europe’s steel market in its monthly European Steel Review publication.  

The latest report shared insight on a European steel sector suffering from a sustained lack of demand – subduing prices across the region. It also acknowledged the importance of the Euroblech expo, stating that many buyers from Europe’s automotive sector will “push hard for discounts when their annual contract negotiations get underway at Euroblech 2024, in Hannover”.
